Virat Kohli is truly a global cricketing superstar. As the veteran batter reached the Auckland airport, ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand, fans turned up in huge numbers just to get a glimpse of the Team India superstar. Requests for selfies, autographs, and handshakes made the situation quite chaotic, prompting even some officials to get involved and create space for Kohli to walk out of the airport. A total of 5 security personnel were assigned for fan management, but the sheer number of people who turned up to see Kohli made the situation a little difficult to manage. Some even reportedly jumped security for a picture or an autograph with him.
A few videos that have surfaced on social media suggested that fans have been at the airport for several hours, some even for a couple of days, just to see Kohli. Some female fans even started to cry upon seeing Kohli, prompting the India batter to oblige their requests.

Kohli is a part of the ODI series against the Kiwis, which starts on November 04. India play a total of 5 matches against the hosts in the 50-over format, before the 2-match Test assignment begins.
Other members of India's ODI team, including KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma, have also reached Auckland. Gill, in fact, was even spotted training with the Indian T20 team in Auckland on Thursday.
Gill, India's ODI captain, was even seen wearing a fitness-tracking device called 'temple' on his forehead during the training session. Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul and pacer Gurnoor Brar have also joined the Indian squad.
Gill was seen engaged in a conversation with Abhishek Sharma, his close friend and India's T20I opener, who smashed 113 off just 38 balls in the third T20I at Wellington while chasing a target of 199. India have an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the series.
At the nets, Ishan Kishan, who is recovering from a groin injury, and Rahul also had a batting session. The India skipper had a conversation with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak as well before taking his turn in the nets.
