Coronation Street announces Jodie's next target in wicked new plot

Coronation Street villain Jodie Ramsey swaps her dad's mental health medication for painkillers next week in a bid to stop him from ruining her wicked scheme.

With Doug aware of Jodie's true nature, she's eager to make him look paranoid and discredit his claims. But will a confused Doug be able to stop his daughter from stealing Shona Platt's life?

"Doug could completely wreck Jodie's plans," explains our cobbles source. "If she can't get him out of the way, she needs him to seem as unreliable and paranoid as possible. Unfortunately for Jodie, her dad knows her far too well…"

Doug's reappearance in Jodie's life could backfire massively if his meddling daughter can't control the narrative. There have already been suggestions that Jodie has form for stealing other people's identities, and Doug is worried that she's up to her old tricks with her sister.

Shona's already beginning to feel pushed out of her family, even more so when she gets home from work and sees Jodie babysitting Harper while David does the dishes.

This scene of domestic bliss comes off the back of Jodie's prolonged efforts to make Shona look as though she's struggling by gaslighting her. But it's not just Harper who Jodie has her eye on, it's David too.

"Jodie pretends to David that she's been stood up by her date," reveals our spy. "She turns on the waterworks after David's given her a blow dry and, feeling sorry for her, David agrees to a drink."

The next day, Jodie brings home a huge bunch of flowers, pretending they're from the guy who cancelled on her the previous night. But when Mary Taylor reveals that Jodie bought them herself, Shona and David feel sorry for her. Is her act having the desired effect on them both?

Meanwhile, worried that Doug's getting too close to exposing her true colours, Jodie swaps her dad's anti-psychotic drugs for painkillers, knowing his symptoms will make him seem paranoid.

Her plan works perfectly when, the next day, David and Shona are alarmed by Doug's strange reaction to the radio.

But Jodie continues to stir things up, making his symptoms worse and relishing his confusion. And her day gets even better when Lily lashes out at Shona, accusing her of always putting Harper first, and praising Jodie for making time for her.

"Jodie is delighted to see her plan coming to fruition," teases our source. "She can sit back with a smug smile and watch Doug and Shona feel like they're losing their minds.

"All while Jodie looks like the perfect domestic goddess, mother and partner, in the hope of finally working her charms on David. But will her master plan have the desired effect?"
