Man killed in landslide in Paya Terubong, Penang
A man was killed in a landslide that affected a house in Taman Seri Rambai, Paya Terubong, Penang, early this morning.
The fire and rescue department said they were alerted to the incident at 8.36am, with the landslide affecting three people staying at the house, Bernama reported.
Two victims managed to pull themselves out while the deceased was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers at 9.10am.
This follows continuous heavy rain in Penang that lasted several hours last night, causing flash floods in multiple parts of the island and mainland.
The affected areas included Bayan Lepas, Bayan Baru, Seberang Jaya, Ampang Jajar and Bukit Mertajam.
