Asian technology stocks tumbled Tuesday as a sell-off in U.S. semiconductor shares spilled into regional markets, dragging down chipmakers and AI-linked companies.

SK Hynix (SKHY) plunged about 8%, while Samsung Electronics (SSNLF) fell about 7% on Asian indexes. While Japan’s SoftBank Group (SFTBY) dropped almost 9%. Chipmaking equipment suppliers Tokyo Electron (TOELF) and Advantest (ATEYY) also came under pressure.

The sell-off followed losses on Wall Street, where the Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) fell 0.44% Monday and Micron Technology (MU) dropped 3.9%.

The sell-off highlights renewed pressure on semiconductor stocks as investors reassess AI-related valuations, spending, and competition in the memory-chip market. Progress by China’s ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has also raised concerns about competitive pressure in the sector.
