Doma United Seek Return To Winning Ways In Home Clash With Warri Wolves

Translate

Doma United will be looking to end their three-game winless run when they welcome Warri Wolves to the Pantami Stadium, Gombe for their EUROMATCH Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 clash on Sunday, completesport.com reports.

The club started the season like a house on fire with three straight wins to go top of the table, but have since hit a bump.

But they are without a win in their last three matches — drawing one and losing two, including last weekend’s 2-1 defeat away to Katsina United. That slump has seen them drop to 5th on the table with 10 points from six games.

However, Doma have been perfect at home this season, winning their only home game 2-0 against Sporting Lagos, and will back themselves to make it two from two in Gombe.

For Warri Wolves, it has been a difficult return to the NPFL, as they are 15th with seven points from six games (two wins, one draw, three defeats) and come into this game on the back of a controversial 1-0 defeat to Enugu Rangers in their rescheduled Matchday 2 fixture on Tuesday at Ozoro.

The club felt aggrieved by the officiating, but the Delta State Government has urged the team to move on.

Sports Commissioner Onoriode Oborevwori told the team after the Rangers loss: _”Please put the game behind you and focus on the next game against Doma United. I believe in you guys. Your next match, I know you can do it. Let’s go and get the big three points.”

Warri Wolves have struggled for goals and on the road — scoring just three goals all season and picking up only one point from three away games.

Doma United, with their vociferous home support behind them, will see this as the perfect opportunity to halt their slide and climb back into the top three.
