Red Dead Redemption 3 Official Release Date Update Shared By Rockstar Games

With it being just over a month until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, it is understandable that gamers cannot think of much else. It has been a long time coming - well over a decade in fact - but we are finally on the homestretch for the launch of the most anticipated video game of all time. However, there is also no denying that Rockstar has more than one hit series under its name, and Red Dead fans are still speculating as to what the future holds for the beloved sister franchise.
It has not yet been a decade since the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, but with the Rockstar title considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, it is no wonder that fans are eager for more. With two other entries making up the series, Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption, it is no wonder that a potential Red Dead Redemption 3 would not be too farfetched, but with Rockstar putting all of its eggs in Grand Theft Auto VI's basket, its sister series has been left in the dust.
However, with the launch of GTA VI just around the corner, could this be the time that Rockstar finally turns its attention back to Red Dead? If so, could Red Dead Redemption 3 be its next big release?
Well, according to Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, the advancement in technology may play a large role in the speed of games being developed. In other words, we will no longer have to wait over a decade between Rockstar's big releases.
In an interview with The Games Business, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “I wouldn’t confuse long development cycles with a lackadaisical approach to development cycles. Everything we do is in the context of milestones, budgets, and delivery dates."
"Certain titles are so complex and so challenging to build, they take a long time... It is possible that recent developments in technology will allow us to compress some development timelines without compromising quality, and we hope to do that.”
So, although Zelnick has not provided us with the answers we wanted regarding the potential Red Dead Redemption 3, he has given us hope that, if the game did enter into development at Rockstar, we will not have to wait as long for it to finally get into our hands.
Luckily, with the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI just around the corner, fans will be too busy heading back to Vice City to worry about this potential development time, which may just be Rockstar's biggest stroke of genius so far. However, that does not mean that we still are not hoping to see where the continuation of Red Dead takes us next.
