Aneet Padda hated set food before ‘Saiyaara’; here’s why she now orders from outside

Aneet Padda has shared why she steers clear of the food served on film sets. In a recent interview, the ‘Saiyaara’ actor said she never enjoyed set meals, and it was only after the film’s success that she gained the freedom to order from outside.

Her remarks follow earlier reports of food poisoning incidents on sets.

Aneet Padda on why she avoids set food

Speaking to Variety India, Aneet was asked what the “best and worst thing about being on a film set” was, and she replied that there was “no con to being on set”. But when the conversation turned to her “relationship with food on set”, she was quick to say that she doesn’t touch the food served there. She explained that before ‘Saiyaara’, when she wasn’t yet a star, she did eat set meals and couldn’t stand them.

“I don’t eat it (set food) anymore. Because luckily for me, I can order from outside. When I did eat set food, the year before 'Saiyaara', it was actually so bad. Like soda is being poured. And when you eat papad, it is fizzing in your mouth,” she said.

Food poisoning on ‘Dhurandhar’ sets

In August 2025, the shoot of ‘Dhurandhar’ in Leh turned into a medical emergency when roughly 120 crew members came down with food poisoning. Officials reportedly confirmed, “Over 100 workers of a Bollywood film crew were hospitalised in Leh after a suspected case of food poisoning late Sunday evening.”

The unit was reportedly filming when many workers abruptly developed severe abdominal pain, vomiting and headaches.

They were immediately taken to Sajal Narbu Memorial (SNM) Hospital in Leh, where doctors confirmed mass food poisoning. An official stated that nearly 600 people had eaten at the location before the incident. “Food samples have been collected for detailed analysis to identify the cause,” the official added.

Aneet Padda’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Aneet was last seen in the widely praised series ‘Hunkkaar’, which she had wrapped long before ‘Saiyaara’. Her next project is ‘Shakti Shalini’, a horror comedy that also stars the late Nana Patekar, and it is due in theatres this December.
