Kit Harington ready to RETURN to 'Game of Thrones'

Long after the Jon Snow spin-off was shelved, actor Kit Harington is not ruling out a return to Westeros. The actor, who played the beloved character in the 'Game of Thrones' series, has revealed that he now feels more comfortable with the idea of reprising his role in a possible spin-off.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Monday, Harington was asked about the GOT sequel series centred on Snow that was being developed several years ago before ultimately being shelved. He shared, "I still think there’s a world in which something could work. I wouldn’t have gone into it in the first place if I didn’t. But I was very insistent at the start - as was HBO and George R.R. Martin - of like: ‘If we don’t find the right thing, let’s not do it.

It’s much better if we don’t.’ After a little while of of thinking about it - it kind of was me - [I said], 'This isn’t quite the right [story].'"However, Harington went on to add, "[But] now I’ve gone and done all these other things and now I feel more comfortable with that character and that world again and where it sits in my life."

During the same conversation, The actor also opened up about how another major fantasy franchise, Harry Potter, helped him after he gave up alcohol.

Opening up about his struggle to switch off at night, with those difficulties becoming particularly pronounced after he got sober, he recalled what helped him get through.Kit shared, "My brain is incredibly busy, especially at night, and I’ve always found going to bed very difficult like and my brain doesn’t turn off. When I got sober that got especially bad. So I started listening to Harry Potter audio books, and now they’re the thing I listen to every night."

Harington has already lent his voice to the Harry Potter universe, having been cast as Gilderoy Lockhart in the full-cast audio editions of the books released last year. He is now set to play the dangerously narcissistic Defence Against the Dark Arts professor in the second season of HBO’s upcoming live-action Harry Potter series. Reflecting on the character, Harington joked, "Lockhart is addicted to himself. It’s just a tiny step to my left [for me].

"Harington is currently promoting his role in the four-part television adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 'A Tale of Two Cities', which premiered on MGM+ on September 6.
