10 Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Cards Worth The Most Money

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is celebrating 30 years of Pokémon with its newest set, Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration, which brings the party home with several beautiful cards celebrating the past, present, and even future of the franchise. While the set may not have many heavy-hitters for competitive play, there are numerous stunning cards that collectors and nostalgic fans will love.

Among the cards in this special 30th Celebration set are thirty different Pikachu cards, each with unique art styles and artists bringing their own special touch to the yellow Mouse Pokémon. This is fitting with Pikachu being such a key mascot for the franchise. In addition to those cards, numbered 023 to 052, there are still more Pikachu cards in the set, including a couple of Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare cards that have made their way to this list.

At the time this list is being written, Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration has not been released yet. Naturally, this means that there is high volatility in all card values, and we recommend checking the included links for TCGPlayer to see what the current market value is. However, even before the dust settles, it's safe to say that these cards are likely to continue being the highest-valued.

Galarian Meowth (141/128)

Illustration Rare

This charming full art card for Galarian Meowth features more than simply the Galarian variant of the little Pokémon. Looking further down on the card, you can see that both the Kanto and Alolan Meowths are happily hanging out, almost as if the three little friends are having a play date together.

At the time of writing, there haven't been enough sales of the card to give an accurate average market value. However, TCGPlayer shows card 141/128 listed at a price of $174.95.

Salamence ex (156/128)

Special Illustration Rare

Dragon-type Salamence ex soars over a vibrant city in this card's artwork, although it's hard to tell if it is enjoying flying while surrounded by hot air balloons, or if the look on its face is more that of annoyance with the light aircrafts. We like to think it's enjoying the company, and it probably doesn't have many opportunities to glide around colorful balloons its own size.

There are several presale listings for card 156/128 at the time this article is being written, but not enough sales yet for an average market value to be determined. That said, TCGPlayer currently has this card listed with a price of $199, which appears to be fairly consistent with all the listings.

Fuecoco ex (147/128)

Special Illustration Rare

This artwork for Fuecoco ex's Special Illustration Rare card appears to be a ground view from the same area that the above-listed Salamence ex is in, with a couple of hot air balloons seen in the distance as the 30th celebration party rages in the streets. Fuecoco and friends are gleefully joining in on the festivities, and Fuecoco looks as though it could be dancing to some music we can't hear.

This beautiful and cheerful card of Fuecoco ex has numerous listings for presales, and TCGPlayer shows it currently at a price of $244. However, as with others on this list, an average market value has yet to be determined.

Jirachi ex (155/128)

Special Illustration Rare

Fuecoco ex and Salamence may be in the same city, but this Jirachi ex certainly isn't. Flying amidst a swirling cosmos, Jirachi fits right in with the otherworldly look. Perhaps Jirachi ex is celebrating the 30th anniversary in their own way up with the stars, or preparing to go use their Wish Granter ability on a lucky Trainer.

A few presales have been made already for Jirachi ex, enough that TCGPlayer lists card 155/128 as having an average market price of $270.90 at the time of writing. However, listings for the card currently range between $200 to $700.

Greninja ex (148/128)

Special Illustration Rare

The dashing frog-like ninja, Greninja ex, always seems like they'd have some of the best dance moves. This is evidently being shown off, with this Special Illustration Rare card artwork depicting Greninja ex in the middle of a party with Eevee and others watching them dance. Lights strobe in the background, completing the scene, and we can almost hear the beat along with them.

At the time of writing, TCGPlayer doesn't have enough data to give an average market value, but it lists Greninja ex 148/128 at a price of $348.

Mewtwo ex (157/128)

Futuristic Rare

One of the Futuristic Rare cards of the set, Mewtwo ex looks incredible with its stunning artwork that feels as though the 3D illustration is reaching right out of the card. In a set celebrating the past 30 years of Pokémon, it's a fun look at what a futuristic Mewtwo might be like. Surrounding Mewtwo are symbols for all the Types, all with a bit of a technologically advanced appearance.

Mewtwo ex was one of the cards that was immediately predicted to be a chase card, particularly due to the Futuristic Rare designation. Currently, the card shows an average market price of $875 on TCGPlayer, with its most recent sale coming in at just under $750.

Sylveon ex (153/128)

Special Illustration Rare

Sylveon ex's attack, "Colorful Harmony", is certainly brought to life on this card, with the ribbon-filled Eeveelution surrounded by a variety of vibrant flowers of all colors. Not only is this a beautiful card to look at, but both this and the base card that this is an alternate of are among the best cards for players to use from the set when playing.

At the time of writing, there have not been enough reported presales for an average market value, but TCGPlayer lists card 153/128 of Sylveon ex at a price of $888.

Pikachu ex (150/128)

Special Illustration Rare

The star of the show, Pikachu ex is in their rightful place at the center of the party. Celebrating 30 years of Pokémon also means 30 years of Pikachu, and there is no better birthday celebration than being surrounded by friends while a massive fireworks show is happening overhead. This nighttime scene is topped only by the other Pikachu ex card in the set, which is currently pulling a slightly higher value.

At the time of writing, this Pikachu ex, card 150/128, is showing on TCGPlayer at a price of $899.79, with several listings for the card all being pretty close in range.

Pikachu ex (149/128)

Special Illustration Rare

Whether this is the same Pikachu ex but shown in the daytime, or if this is a different Pikachu also enjoying the party, card 149/128 is pretty similar to the previous one. Although anyone would have to smile when spotting the happy face of a waving Slowpoke in the bottom right corner. Even partially obscured by the card text, this cheery Slowpoke brings the energy of celebration.

At the time this article is being written, there are several listings for this Pikachu ex card 149/128, all within about $10 of each other. TCGPlayer shows the card at a price of $1,099, although there have not been enough actual sales to give an average market price yet.

Mew ex (158/128)

Futuristic Rare

The other Futuristic Rare of the set goes, quite fittingly, to Mew ex. The Mythical Mew ex is almost camouflaged against the bright colors on this pastel card, blending in with the reflective surface of the Poké Ball behind them. It makes for a beautiful image, although it may be a bit scary if Mew is not on your side.

This incredible card has already had a few presales, with TCGPlayer listing it at an average market price of $1828.24. The card is likely to see some high volatility once the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration set is released, but with prices like that, it's almost sure to remain near the top.
