Delhi’s Priyansh Arya was bowled a run short of his double century by Gujarat's part-time spinner, Manan Hingrajia during a Ranji Trophy fixture at the Airforce Complex Ground, Palam II in New Delhi on Sunday.
Priyansh fell on 199 off 220 balls, hitting 24 fours and six sixes during his innings as Delhi reached 381/4 at the end of day 1.
The opening batter started the day cautiously, despite his aggressive nature. However, once he settled in, Priyansh started flexing his muscles and hitting shots across the park. He reached his 50 off just 55 balls and seemed in great form.

He initially had a 50-run partnership with Sanat Sangwan, which settled Delhi's nerves, before Priyansh and Ayush Badoni, who also hit a century, joined forces to score 234 runs off 246 balls and dominate the post-lunch sessions.
Priyansh reached his maiden First Class hundred off just 125 balls and continued to hit his shots till he was eventually bowled on a ball that stayed low.
He became only the 14th batter to get out on 199 in Ranji Trophy history. MM Naidu of Baroda recorded the first-ever 199 in the tournament.
