‘The Witcher 3’ team share first taste of ‘Songs Of The Past’ expansion soundtrack
A new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion is due to launch next year and the team at game developers CD Projekt Red have shared the first taste of the DLC’s music.
Tomorrow (September 29) a remastered version of The Witcher 3 is due to launch ahead of the Songs Of The Past expansion, which is due to be released at some point next year. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs Of The Past soundtrack features new music from original composer Marcin Przybyłowicz alongside franchise newcomers Magda Urbańska and Daniel Elms. A five-track taster EP is available to stream now.
“Creating music for Songs Of The Past was incredibly exciting for me, but I also felt a huge sense of responsibility. I vividly remember the first time I heard the music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – it shook me to the core. That music was extraordinary then, and it remains extraordinary to this day,” said Urbańska in a statement.
“I’ve worked with classical music for most of my life, but folk requires a completely different sensibility – it has its own tone and form, while also offering enormous creative freedom. But our roots, our Slavic heritage, are something more than that – something that runs deep within us, something that grows out of who we are. I hope we’ve managed to preserve The Witcher DNA in these pieces.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered modernises the open-world role-playing game with a range of upgrades to visuals, performance, gameplay, and more. Both the Hearts Of Stone and Blood And Wine expansions have been updated too.
Next year, the Songs Of The Past paid expansion will introduce the brand new region of Letten. “This idyllic land is rich in rural tradition and folklore, and its people enjoy a fulfilling life of bountiful harvests and lavish festivals. But a dark secret lurks just beneath the surface, and Geralt must overcome never-before-seen foes as he fights to overcome its long-dormant evil,” reads a press release.
The final season of Netflix’s The Witcher had been due to launch at some point this year but has been quietly delayed until 2027.
