2 dead, 2 injured in Subic Freeport landslide

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Two workers died while two others were injured in a landslide at the Tipo High-Tech Park in Subic Bay Freeport on Saturday amid non-stop heavy rains.
Based on initial reports from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Law Enforcement Department, the fatalities were identified as Peng Jiahan, 26, a Chinese national and sales and marketing supervisor of Fubong Environmental Technology, and Ernesto Ramos, a Filipino national and dump truck driver.
The four workers were found unconscious and brought to James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital in Olongapo City, where the two were later declared dead.

Earlier, SBMA confirmed a soil erosion incident occurred at the Tipo High-Tech Park within the Subic Bay Freeport, attributing it to non-stop heavy rains.
The SBMA said it is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
