Lacson claims proof of illegally reclaimed Taguig land

Translate

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he has identified four parcels of illegally reclaimed land in Taguig using “fraudulently” issued land titles, while at least four other parcels have allegedly no plotted title lots in the digital file of the Land Registration Authority (LRA).

Lacson tweeted the details of the alleged fraudulent land titles in Taguig’s lakeshore development to dispel Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano’s dismissal of the allegations as false.

“Since Sen. Cayetano keeps publicly asking for evidence, I’ll give it to him, in the spirit of public interest,” Lacson posted on X.
He was reacting to Cayetano’s Facebook Live on Thursday, where the Minority Leader said he is “hurt” for the 1.3 million residents of Taguig because Lacson is spreading “fake news” about the city.

Lacson said the details of the four “fraudulently” titled parcels involve one covered by an Administrative Patent, involving 9,204 square meters under an Original Certificate of Title; one covered through Judicial/Ordinary Land Registration Processing covering an area of 5,000 square meters under an OCT; one covered by a Homestead Patent involving 181,077 square meters under a Transfer Certificate of Title and one involving 193,027 square meters under a TCT.

Lacson withheld details like the names of those to whom the titles were issued, as well as the OCT and TCT numbers, with the investigation still ongoing.

These will be turned over to the ombudsman as part of its fact-finding probe on Taguig’s allegedly anomalous lakeshore development and reclamation in the guise of flood control and slope protection.

Lacson earlier said the LRA is digging up details on land titles covering some 38.83 hectares of illegally reclaimed areas on the Taguig side of Laguna Lake.

The uncovered land titles were based on the materials provided by the Philippine Reclamation Authority to Lacson’s office.
