Moment man rescued from sinking car by Australian TV reporter

Translate

A man in a sinking car has been saved by a TV journalist after driving into deep flood water.

Will Murray was at the scene reporting for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Morayfield, Queensland, when he saw a vehicle drive past him into the water.

Murray, and a bystander, rushed to help the driver as the SUV sank.

Murray says when it became clear the car was sinking very fast "there was no thinking involved", because the man might have drowned.

"Better that you jump in and give it a crack", Murray tells BBC News.
