Casting GTA 6 If It Was A 2026 Live-Action Film: All 10 Major Roles

It's hard to believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 is only weeks away now, and after years of waiting, multiple dramatic delays, countless rumors and leaks, and some of the most wild fan theories of any major release, Rockstar Games is finally delivering what promises to be the biggest gaming event of the decade.

Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos may be at the center of the story, but Rockstar has already introduced a colorful supporting cast that looks perfectly suited to the crime, chaos, and larger-than-life personality of Vice City and Leonida. With so much cinematic inspiration already baked into Grand Theft Auto, it isn't difficult to imagine what these characters could look like in an actual Hollywood adaptation.

So, purely as an interesting thought experiment, we wanted to imagine what it would look like if GTA 6 were adapted into a live-action movie in 2026. From Jason and Lucia to Brian Heder, Boobie Ike, and Raul Bautista, here are our picks to play all GTA 6's major roles.

Luis Guzmán As Mendez

Mendez has been one of GTA 6's more mysterious supporting characters, but Rockstar's extended look made it clear that he is the main police officer leading the task force that raids the building where Jason and Lucia are completing a drug pickup. His aggressive behavior during the operation immediately suggests he could become a significant obstacle for the pair, even though the full extent of his role remains ambiguous.

Luis Guzmán would be a natural fit for that kind of character. The veteran actor has decades of experience bringing intimidating, eccentric, and morally questionable supporting characters to life across a huge range of different role types, while recent appearances in Wednesday, Havoc, and Guns Up prove he's still got chops in 2026 after a historic career.

Benicio Del Toro As Raul Bautista

Raul Bautista is described by Rockstar as a seasoned bank robber defined by his confidence, charm, and cunning, constantly searching for talented criminals willing to take on bigger risks and earn bigger rewards. He is experienced and adaptable, but his increasingly reckless approach to each score suggests he could become as dangerous to his own crew as he is to anyone standing in their way.

Benicio del Toro would be an almost perfect fit, looking at his performances in movies like Sicario, Traffic, and The Usual Suspects, which show how effortlessly he can switch between an intelligent planner to a menace and just as quickly turn on the understated charm. Del Toro could make Raul feel like a veteran criminal who's always calculating his next move while still leaving viewers uncertain about how far he's willing to go.

Megan Thee Stallion As Roxy

Roxy is one half of Real Dimez, the Vice City rap duo she formed with longtime friend Bae-Luxe. The pair turned a history of shaking down local dealers into a music career powered by provocative tracks and an aggressive social media presence, eventually scoring a hit with DWNPLY before signing with Only Raw Records.

Megan Thee Stallion would be an inspired choice for Roxy, bringing genuine rap credibility, confidence, humor, and the larger-than-life presence the character demands. She could make Real Dimez feel like a believable act instead of actors pretending to be rappers. Keke Palmer wouldn't be a bad alternative, either; her comedic timing and musical background as well as a stronger acting résumé could make Roxy especially entertaining if the role proved more story-heavy.

Doechii As Bae-Luxe

Bae-Luxe is the other half of Real Dimez, having known Roxy since high school before the pair turned their hustling instincts into a rap career. Doechii would be a particularly fun choice alongside Megan Thee Stallion. Her eccentric and theatrical delivery, one-of-a-kind personality, and ability to shift between humor, drama, and swagger would give Bae-Luxe her own standout role without stepping on Megan's larger-than-life presence as Roxy.

Pairing two genuine rap stars would also make Real Dimez feel immediately credible as an actual musical duo, while Doechii's previous acting experience gives the casting some actual Hollywood grounding.

Joey Bada$$ As Dre'Quan Priest

Dre'Quan Priest is an aspiring music mogul who has always seen himself as more of a hustler than a gangster. Even while dealing on the streets, his real ambition was breaking into the music business, and GTA 6 finds him building Only Raw Records alongside Boobie Ike while trying to turn Real Dimez into the label's breakout act.

Joey Bada$$ would be an especially natural fit because he brings credibility on both sides of that character. He rose to prominence as a Brooklyn rapper and co-founder of Pro Era, while also building a substantial acting résumé through Mr. Robot and Power Book III: Raising Kanan. That combination of music-industry experience and acting ability makes him a strong match for Dre'Quan.

Killer Mike As Boobie Ike

Boobie Ike feels like the kind of GTA character who has already lived several lives before the story even begins. A well-known Vice City figure, he's moved beyond the streets to build a small empire that includes real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio, with Only Raw Records now representing his latest big play.

Killer Mike, aka Michael Render, would be an especially interesting and fitting choice to play Boobie Ike. He wouldn't need much help selling Boobie's attitude or making the music-industry connections believable, given his long career as a rapper and one half of the legendary Run the Jewels.

He's also spent years popping up in projects like Ozark, Billions, Dave, and The Good Lord Bird, proving he can bring more to the part than stunt casting. Killer Mike would bring a certain charisma and sage street wisdom to Boobie Ike, and would feel completely at home in Vice City's criminal underworld.

Paul Walter Hauser As Cal Hampton

If Jack Black didn't dominate every scene he's in and was a few years younger he'd probably be a perfect fit for Cal Hampton, but equally perfect for the role is the hilarious and surprisingly dynamic Paul Walter Hauser.

Cal is Jason's conspiracy-minded friend, a beer-drinking homebody who spends much of his time monitoring Coast Guard communications and buying into the strange and dark corners of Leonida life.

Hauser has built a career out of making odd, obsessive, and socially awkward characters feel both ridiculous and strangely believable, from Richard Jewell to Black Bird and, of course, as Stingray in Cobra Kai. He could lean into Cal's paranoia and comic side without turning him into a complete caricature, which is exactly what the role needs.

Stephen Root As Brian Heder (Duh)

Brian Heder is an old-school smuggler who has spent decades moving drugs through the Leonida Keys, operating out of his boatyard while relying on younger criminals to handle much of the dirty work. He also gives Jason a place to stay in exchange for helping with local shakedowns, putting him directly into the protagonist's orbit.

Stephen Root is easily the most obvious casting choice on this entire list, especially after confirming recently that he voices Brian in GTA 6, not that it wasn't obvious already from the trailer. Root has already helped establish the character's personality, and his long career playing eccentric, unpredictable supporting figures in Barry, Office Space, and King of the Hill makes him an effortless fit. If GTA 6 became a live-action movie, keeping Root in the role would almost feel mandatory.

Adria Arjona As Lucia Caminos

There are several great picks for GTA 6's Lucia, especially with the character being the focal point of so many of the game's emotional and dramatic moments. Melissa Barrera could bring the necessary toughness, while Eiza González has the screen presence to sell Lucia as both dangerous and alluring. Ana de Armas would be another obvious choice, although she may feel almost too established for a role that would benefit from someone audiences could more easily disappear into.

Adria Arjona ultimately feels like the strongest fit. She has already shown that she can balance charm, intensity, vulnerability, and action in projects like Hit Man, Andor, and Blink Twice, all qualities Lucia will likely demand. Just as importantly, Arjona could have excellent chemistry with our pick for Jason. Their combination would make the central relationship feel believable as both a romance and a volatile criminal partnership, which should be essential to any live-action GTA 6 adaptation.

Austin Butler As Jason Duval

As with Lucia, casting Jason is a tough endeavor as there are several great modern picks for the role. Glen Powell could easily capture Jason's laid-back Florida energy and charisma, while Dacre Montgomery has the intensity and physical presence to make the criminal side of the character convincing.

Austin Butler ultimately feels like the ideal choice, though. Jason comes across as a capable but somewhat reluctant criminal who wants an easier life, only to find himself dragged deeper into chaos alongside Lucia. Butler has the range to handle that combination of toughness, vulnerability, and understated humor, while his look isn't far removed from Rockstar's design for Jason.

After roles in Elvis, Dune: Part Two, and The Bikeriders, he's also proven he can completely reshape himself for any character. Paired with Adria Arjona, Butler could give GTA 6's power couple the chemistry needed to carry an entire movie, making him the #1 choice for the starring role as Jason Duval.
