“The new Greens leader seems to have more ‘fire in the belly’ and in that sense more of a match to Pauline Hanson and will certainly have more sensible policies. But if what Pauline is selling is anger itself and that now matches Australians’ rising anger this century, having been trained on the outrage from the algorithms, sensible policies alone may not work.”

“As the 86-year-old mother of two beautiful baby boys, I see a huge gap in reasons for reduced birth rates in Viva Hammer’s research. I never had to consider the existential threat of global warming plus the potential horrors of AI. I did worry about the threat of war (my babies were born in 1969 and 1970). Would I contemplate a baby today? I don’t know. But I do know I understand the reasoning of those who decide, on grounds of future frightening scenarios, not to procreate.”
