Ben-Gvir sues Eisenkot for NIS 100,000 over 'false attribution of incitement to killing, racism'

National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir filed a NIS 100,000 defamation lawsuit against MK Gadi Eisenkot and his party on Thursday over remarks Eisenkot made on KAN News's "How to Do Things" podcast.

Ben-Gvir filed the lawsuit through his attorney, Ze'ev Wolf, after Eisenkot attributed the dissemination of violent TikTok videos aimed at young people to Ben-Gvir.

According to the lawsuit, Eisenkot described videos containing messages such as "the only way is to kill" and "a good Arab is a dead Arab," alongside messages encouraging the use of force and bullying.

Immediately after describing those messages, Eisenkot said: "This is the phenomenon called Itamar Ben-Gvir."

Ben-Gvir stressed in the statement of claim that he had never published, promoted, or disseminated videos containing calls to kill or the statement "a good Arab is a dead Arab," and argued that the allegation was entirely false.

Ben-Gvir is asking the court to order Eisenkot and his party to pay NIS 100,000 in damages without requiring proof of harm.

He is also seeking the removal of the relevant segment from all platforms controlled by the party and the publication of a clear correction to the remarks.
