Blue Planet III is going on tour with 'epic' live concert featuring music by Hans Zimmer – how to get tickets

David Attenborough's Blue Planet is being turned into an immersive live-in-concert experience set to tour the UK next spring.

Blue Planet III will air on the BBC this autumn narrated by the 100-year-old broadcaster and featuring music by composer Hans Zimmer. This will be followed up by a huge UK arena tour in May 2027 featuring the series on a big screen and a live orchestra to perform the score.

The tour is coming to Manchester's AO Arena on 21 May, Birmingham's BP Pulse Live on the 22nd and Glasgow's OVO Hydro on the 23rd, a London date will also be confirmed at a later time.

Executive Producer Elizabeth White is confirmed to be hosting, bringing with her stories and behind-the-scenes secrets from this latest series of the beloved documentary. Meanwhile specially curated Blue Planet footage will be shown on a 200sq metre Ultra HD LED screen with music performed live by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Following the announcement Elizabeth White said: “Making Blue Planet III has taken us to places we never imagined we'd film. But there's something about bringing that footage into a concert arena full of people, with the score performed live all around you, that will be truly special. This tour is our chance to share the series on a completely different scale, and I can't wait to be there live, revealing the extraordinary stories behind what audiences are seeing on screen.”

While Hans Zimmer added: “There’s nothing like experiencing this score live with an orchestra, especially when it’s paired with the extraordinary visuals of the life underwater. Thom, Laurentia and I are ecstatic that audiences will be able to enjoy our score in this way.”

Blue Planet first aired on the BBC 25 years ago on the BBC with Blue Planet I, and returned 16 years later with the second series. Now, this third iteration is set to be just as epic and extroardinary.

In the run up to its release Sir David Attenborough said: "Twenty-five years ago, when I narrated the first Blue Planet series it didn't occur to me that I would be narrating a third series in my centennial year. The ocean is an endlessly fascinating place.

"In these new programmes we uncover a further wonderful array of under-water life, which is more surprising, more sophisticated and even more important than we ever realised. I am proud and delighted to be associated with Blue Planet III."

This live in concert series follows on from the similarly successful run of Blue Planet II Live in Concert, Planet Earth II Live in Concert and Planet Earth III Live in Concert. Tickets for the experience go on pre-sale from 14th October with general sale on the 16th.
