Prabowo optimistic Indonesia will achieve founders' ideals

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism Indonesia will rise and be able to achieve the founding fathers' ideals by prioritising cooperation and mutual assistance among leaders.

Prabowo made the remarks while inaugurating Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT Jakarta Line at Manggarai Station, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

"I am confident that, soon, Indonesia, despite all its problems, will rise and move toward the ideals of our nation's founders," Prabowo said as monitored online via the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

The spirit of mutual cooperation and leaders' ability to work together are among the key strengths that can drive Indonesia to become an extraordinary nation, according to him.

Prabowo cited cooperation between the central government and the Jakarta provincial government in developing and managing metropolitan transportation as an example.

He explained the development of Jakarta's transportation system is proof that political differences should not hinder cooperation in carrying out the people's mandate.

The development of various transportation modes in recent years shows Indonesia's ability to continue transforming, he added.

Prabowo also highlighted plans to build housing towers for low-income communities around the area, saying the project reflects efforts to bring the benefits of development to the public.

The president also praised Jakarta's economic development, as conveyed by the Governor Pramono Anung, noting that economic growth has increased, companies that previously experienced a slowdown are beginning to recover, and investment has risen.

He said the developments show that cooperation and mutual assistance among leaders can produce real progress.

"This actually shows that if leaders can cooperate, can practice mutual cooperation, and must practice mutual cooperation, are willing to work together, then this nation will rise to become an extraordinary nation," Prabowo remarked.
