Placebo Announce 2027 Latin American Tour Celebrating Their First Two Albums
Placebo are bringing their 30th anniversary celebration to Latin America. The alternative rock veterans have announced a 10-date run through Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico for February and March 2027.
The shows will find Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal revisiting material from the band’s first two albums, 1996’s Placebo and 1998’s Without You I’m Nothing, bringing early favorites and songs that haven’t regularly appeared in their live sets in years back into the fold.
In a video accompanying the announcement, Olsdal reflected on how the release of Placebo’s debut coincided with the moment the band began looking beyond its home country.
“1996, when the album came out, that’s when we started to play shows outside of the UK,” Olsdal said. “Up until then, we did pubs, small venues, you know, the whole Camden circuit, Dublin Castle, etc. And for us, the world was much bigger than the UK. We never saw ourselves as a British band.”

The Latin American leg kicks off February 20th in São Paulo before making three additional stops in Brazil. From there, Placebo will visit Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, and Bogotá before wrapping the run with shows in Guadalajara and Monterrey in March.
The anniversary celebrations have already extended beyond the stage. In June, Placebo released Placebo RE, a reimagining of their self-titled debut constructed from the original master tapes. The band has described the project as a “director’s cut” that reflects three decades of performing those songs without replacing the original album. Tickets for the newly announced dates in Mexico will be available via Ticketmaster starting on Tuesday at 11:00 AM CST. Fans from the rest of the Latin American countries included on the tour can sign up for presale links on the band’s website.
