Paul Walter Hauser & Julian Sergi Attempt To Solve “Masculinity Crisis” With YouTube Show ‘Boy Talk’

EXCLUSIVE: Paul Walter Hauser and Julian Sergi are attempting to solve the global masculinity crisis via their new show.

The pair are launching Boy Talk Talk Show, a show on YouTube that will ask celebrities how to be a “real man”.

Black Bird star Hauser, who is in the upcoming Resident Evil movie, and Julian Sergi, who has appeared in Ramy and War Dogs, have teamed with Million Dollar Secret producer Wheelhouse on the series, which will launch on September 14.

It comes as increasing numbers of stars and production companies are taking to YouTube to develop and produce new projects.

Boy Talk will feature a rotating panel of, sometimes uncomfortable, celebrity guests, from musicians to athletes and influencers, for a “bro sesh”. The lineup includes Love Island USA and Traitors star Rob Rausch, NBA All-Star Blake Griffin, musician Teddy Swims, UFC star Chuck Liddell, WWE star Becky Lynch, world champion fencer Miles Chamlay-Watson, car builder and creator Emilia Hartford and Queer Eye star Bobby Berk.

The pair will ask questions such as “What’s more masculine… taking lettuce off a BLT or kidnapping an ex-girlfriend’s dog?” and “Is it possible to quit your job and make money?”.

Jason Gallagher serves as director and producer, Wheelhouse President of Talent and Development Jessica Zalkind will exec produce alongside Hauser and Sergi.

Hauser said, “While Hollywood still churns out dramatic brilliance, I do feel the comedy world has been lacking and, for me, the best comedy I’ve found has been online [such as] Tim Heidecker on YouTube, Hugh Hocknull on Instagram. Julian and I love non-traditional humor, so we tried to craft something that feels like an irreverent comedy playground that dually works as an educational tool in deconstructing the flaws and origins of toxic masculinity.”

Sergi added, “Paul and I met in 2013, auditioning against each other for a one-line role on The Big Bang Theory [as Fat Pizza Delivery Driver]. We both didn’t get the part. Our new show is an ode to the sexual energy we felt towards each other in that audition room 13 years ago.”

Zalkind said, “Paul and Julian had something really special with Boy Talk — it was original, unexpected and unique to their sense of humor. We knew immediately that we wanted to help bring their vision and these ‘characters’ to life. They have a chemistry that you can’t manufacture, and this show is a great example of what can happen when you put the right talent behind an idea that only they could make.”
