Steam has just made four new games entirely free to download and keep as part of your collection forever, but you may want to snag them as soon as possible. Steam is the go-to platform if you’re looking for free new titles to play. The platform hosts several new releases, many of which are free-to-play. There are also several free demos on Steam that let you get to know new games before deciding on a purchase. Nevertheless, if you want a full game for free, look no further, as four new ones have been dropped this month.

According to a post on Free Steam Games on X, four new free games were added to Steam on October 23. All of them are entirely free-to-play, no strings attached. This means that all you have to do is visit their respective product pages and add them to your library. Once they are added, they join your collection permanently and can be downloaded at any time, provided they remain listed on the platform. Not all games will necessarily resonate with you, but at least one of them has the potential to grab your attention.

The first of the free new games on Steam is called aSc Boom. This is a wizard arena brawler for one to four players – the developer informs that they have used AI for the soundtrack. The second game on the list, The Residual, is described as a “short, free atmospheric narrative platformer about loneliness, memory, love, and a collapsing world that may or may not be real.” The title’s developer informs that generative AI was used to assist with programming and create the majority of The Residual’s visual assets.

The list below highlights all four free games added to Steam on October 23, as per the post:

Webs of Reverie is a new free horror game on Steam. A first-person survival game developed by Mouse Byte Studios, you’ll explore Ironveil Psychiatric Hospital while trying to escape and stay sane – that, however, may prove to be challenging, as the staff is terrifying. Lastly, Moto Racing Manager lives up to its name and allows you to meticulously manage your racing team, optimizing the bike, the driver, and more. The developers reveal that generative AI doesn’t run within the game, but that it was used for the 3D representation of the motorcycles, icons, artwork, and more.

A creepy nurse monster stares at the player in Webs of Reverie.

As seen from the wide spread of genres, there’s a bit for everyone here. Even if you aren’t particularly keen on trying out any of these titles, there are still more options to look at. Just recently, four free games were added to Steam, including puzzle titles and simulation experiences. On occasion, you can also find some free RPGs on the platform, be they turn-based or action-oriented.

Finding free games on the platform is all about looking around. While they aren’t often highlighted as much as AAA game releases, new free titles are being added all the time to the storefront. If you want, you can actually play one free game on Steam every day without having to spend a penny.
