EastEnders reveals new Stacey Slater update after tragic Walford death

EastEnders shared an update on Stacey Slater tonight (15 September) as the entire Slater clan tried to come to terms with Zoe's tragic death. Stacey was last seen on Albert Square in October of last year before she left for Brazil to live with her brother Sean.
The last straw for Stacey, which led to her deciding to leave Walford, was seeing Zoe kiss her ex Max Branning.

Tonight the Slaters attempted to rally around Kat who would not leave Zoe's room. As the residents of Albert Square laid flowers outside the Queen Vic, Jean told Alfie that Zoe's death didn't seem real.
When Alfie then asked if she'd told Stacey, Jean said she phoned her and she was "shocked" at the awful news.
Sharon, Phil, Ned, and Gemma, then came to offer their condolences, with Alfie sharing that Bert and Ernie were refusing to come home as they believed there was still a dead body in Zoe's room.
Ned told Alfie the best thing he could do was show the twins that there was no dead body and therefore nothing to be scared of.

Later Alfie found Tommy crying in Zoe's room after he had overheard Kat saying she would have gone with Zoe if Tommy hadn't of run off drunk.
But Alfie assured him he was not to blame for Zoe's death and then enlisted him to help fix up Zoe's room so they could get Bert and Ernie to come home.
Meanwhile, Kat ran into Oscar outside and the pair had a heart-to-heart, with Kat asking him how his mum Tanya dealt with Abbi's death. Oscar told her that Tanya shut herself away from everyone, including him, with Kat then saying that she didn't want her kids to lose her.
But when Kat arrived home she found that rest of the family in Zoe's room which Alfie and Tommy had tidied and decorated. However this caused Kat to break down and order everyone, including Burt and Ernie, out of the room.

Tonight's mention of Stacey comes after a report over the weekend claimed Lacey Turner was on her way back to the soap for a special guest stint.
A TikTok from The Sun's Hannah Hope claimed Turner will appear as a guest star in episodes around the New Years before returning in proper later in 2027.
Last month it was also confirmed that Sean Slater will be back on Albert Square soon marking Rob Kazinsky's first full-time return in 17 years.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
