Translate

Plenty of Prime Ministers have been watched on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, but none have bedecked the famous sofas until now.

Tomorrow, Andy Burnham will appear from 10 Downing Street on Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer sat alongside his old friend Steve Rotheram, the Mayor of Liverpool. Check out a tease below.

Appearing at 9.05 p.m. GMT (1.05 p.m. PT) on Channel 4, Burnham and Rotheram will discuss the week’s television. Other celebs to have been announced include Celebrity Traitors contestant Joe Lycett and the Sugababes. Many more are set to be announced.

Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer has attracted some big names in recent years including Hollywood stars Kieran Culkin and Josh Hartnett last year.

Seen as something of an everyman, Burnham will now get the chance to broadcast his thoughts on the week’s TV to millions. An Instagram reel teasing his appearance shows him offering crisps and beer to Rotheram.

Burnham is the first Prime Minister to appear on Gogglebox. Jeremy Corbyn, who was leader of the opposition at the time, came on the show a decade ago, while former PM Boris Johnson’s father Stanley Johnson appeared two years later.
