Skateboarder Brown wins silver in Olympic qualifier

Translate

Great Britain's Sky Brown won silver at the World Skate Games as she continued her bid to qualify for a third Olympic Games.

The 18-year-old skateboarder scored 89.50 points in the women's park final and narrowly missed out on gold to Japan's Mizuho Hasegawa, who scored 91.00.

The competition in Asuncion, Paraguay, was the second event where skaters could earn world skate ranking (WSR) points towards qualifying for Los Angeles 2028, which will be the third Olympic Games to host skateboarding.

In the Tokyo Olympic Games, held in 2021, Brown won bronze to become Great Britain's youngest Olympic medal winner at 13 years old.

Four years later, she added a second bronze at the Paris Olympics.

Brown is also a two-time park world champion, winning titles in 2023 and 2025.

Her 15-year-old brother, Ocean Brown, also competed for Great Britain in Paraguay, in his first appearance at the World Skate Games, but missed out on advancing past the heats.
