#SHOWBIZ: Bollywood star Tamannaah Bhatia thrills fans in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU: Hundreds of fans endured sweltering heat for nearly five hours along Jalan Segget yesterday, all eager for a glimpse of popular Indian film actress Tamannaah Bhatia.

Gathering as early as 10am, enthusiasts braved the sun with posters in hand and umbrellas overhead.

The actress was in town to launch the new Ayra & Abhinaya diamond collections for Yazhini Gold & Diamonds at their Jalan Segget branch, in an event hosted by Chennai television personality Kiki Vijay.

Having arrived from Mumbai the previous evening, Tamannaah made her appearance around 2.50pm dressed in a striking pink saree, drawing roaring cheers from the waiting crowd.

Rather than heading straight to the main stage, the star took time to mingle with the crowd, snapping selfies, shaking hands, and chatting with supporters who had been waiting since morning.

"I am so happy to see all of you still here and full of energy, even though the weather today is quite hot," she told the cheering crowd.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception in the southern city, she added: "Johor fans are so lovely. Since I arrived last night, I have received so much love."

Commenting on the launch, she noted: "The Yazhini collection is truly exquisite and makes a wonderful gift."

Yazhini Gold & Diamonds marketing manager Velan shared that Tamannaah was chosen as the brand ambassador because her image embodies elegance and style, perfectly aligning with their broad customer base.

Her appearance in Johor Bahru came just a day after the release of her latest film, The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest.

The Hindi-language fantasy thriller, which blends Indian folklore with suspense, stars Tamannaah alongside Sidharth Malhotra.

Reflecting on her latest project, she expressed pride in showcasing Indian traditions through cinema. "India has such a rich heritage, and through this film, we are bringing our culture to the screen," she said.

Since beginning her acting career in 2005, Tamannaah has established herself as a major powerhouse in South Indian cinema with roles in hits such as Kalloori, Ayan, Paiyaa, Siruthai, Veeram, and the horror-comedy Aranmanai 4.

Her dance track Kaavaalaa from Rajinikanth's blockbuster Jailer became a viral sensation across India, while her role in the massive Baahubali franchise propelled her to global fame.
