KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened on a choppy note today, fluctuating between positive and negative territory before edging higher, in line with the mixed performance on Wall Street overnight.

The benchmark index opened 1.25 points higher at 1,620.76.

Trading is expected to remain muted ahead of the US midterm elections later today, with the index likely to trend between 1,615 and 1,625.

In the crypto market, Bitcoin climbed back to RM314,319 as concerns over the sector's biggest hack eased.
