Anti-tank missile found in Ramle residential compound during police weapons search

A light antitank weapon (LAW) was found in a residential compound in Ramle during a police operation to locate illegally held weapons on Thursday, with police investigating how the missile reached the site and where it originated, Walla reported.

A resident of the compound was arrested and taken in for questioning. The operation involved Special Patrol Unit officers, Central District Police intelligence officers, Border Police officers from the Sharon branch, and Ramla police officers.

Police said the seizure was carried out as part of efforts to combat the leakage of weapons from the IDF into the hands of criminal elements.

A senior police official told Walla following the seizure of the LAW missile: "Crime organizations are arming themselves at the expense of the IDF's back; we must wake up."

Additional ammunition seized in Lod operation

In a separate operation in Lod, officers from the Shfela branch of the Border Police, together with Lod police detectives, conducted a search during which six magazines and hundreds of rounds of various types of ammunition were seized.

Police detained a suspect present at the scene for questioning.

The two operations were carried out as part of the Central District Police's task force activities, which focus on fighting crime hotspots and violent disputes in Arab society.

Police said the activities include locating weapons and ammunition held illegally and preventing them from reaching criminal organizations.
