Is Alex Caruso Married? Meet Haleigh Broucher, The Big Brother Alum Who Became His Wife

Alex Caruso is married. The Thunder guard wed Haleigh Broucher in Houston on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, less than two months after winning his second NBA title. Fans know Caruso as the “Bald Mamba,” a defensive pest who always seems to be on the right end of a steal. His wife is a reality TV name in her own right, a PhD student and a swimwear founder. Here is what we know about the woman who is now Haleigh Caruso.
Who is Haleigh Broucher, and how did they meet?
Broucher, 28 at the time of the wedding, is a Texas native who studied psychology at Texas A&M. She rose to fame as a houseguest on Season 20 of the CBS reality show Big Brother in 2018, where she finished 7th among 16 contestants and was named America's Favorite Houseguest runner-up. She dated fellow contestant Faysal Shafaat on the show, and they split in July 2020.
After the show, she moved to Chicago for a doctorate in industrial organizational psychology at Northern Illinois University, and she lists herself as a PhD candidate. She also founded the swimwear brand Evoke and shares beauty, fashion and fitness tips with about 266,000 Instagram followers. Her page is full of game-day vlogs and Big Brother memories, and she has worked with brands such as Nails.INC.
Both went to Texas A&M, but they did not meet there. Broucher said in a 2024 podcast interview that she knew of him because he played basketball at the school, but they never connected, even though they ran in the same circles. His friends were Big Brother fans, she said, so he already knew who she was. They began dating after college and went Instagram official in September 2022. She later moved with him to Oklahoma.
In August 2024, they announced their engagement with photos from a beach proposal, captioned “Forever kind of love.” She also wrote online that he “makes me a better person in all areas of my life.”
Inside the Houston wedding
The couple married at The Astorian, a luxury venue in Houston known for its 1920s Art Deco style. Several Thunder teammates attended, including Chet Holmgren, Jaylin Williams, Cason Wallace, Luguentz Dort and Isaiah Hartenstein, along with Sacramento Kings star Zach LaVine. Former Bulls teammates Coby White, Javonte Green and Ayo Dosunmu were part of the celebration too, and they posed with headbands in a nod to Caruso's look on the court. Big Brother alum Angela Rummans appeared to be a bridesmaid.
The day had plenty of small touches, from white flowers and a first dance to a black-and-white photo booth for guests. Broucher shared photos with the caption “A forever kind of love.” Back in June, after the Thunder beat the Pacers, she had written that she was proud of her husband-to-be's second championship.
