JD Vance's mother says she'd 'probably punch' El-Sayed over family remarks

El-Sayed has previously made remarks about Second Lady Usha Vance and the couple's children, including during an April appearance on "The Allen Analysis Show," according to Fox News.

Vice President JD Vance's mother, Beverly Vance Aikins, said she would "probably punch" Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed over remarks he has made about Vance's family, Fox News reported on Wednesday.

"I'd probably punch the guy if I ever seen him, and then that would get me in trouble," Aikins told OutKick and Fox News host Tomi Lahren. "So, I'll just go with the flow."

Aikins said El-Sayed's remarks angered her because "he doesn't know JD" or "what type of person he is."

"I think they're jealous, honestly," she said, pointing to her son's position as vice president and his family. "He's got a beautiful wife, four beautiful children, and jealousy is the only thing I can think of."

El-Sayed's remarks about Vance family

El-Sayed has previously made remarks about Second Lady Usha Vance and the couple's children, including during an April appearance on "The Allen Analysis Show," according to Fox News.

El-Sayed said Vance had "brown kids" and suggested that they would one day question their father's political views. He also appeared to encourage Usha Vance to leave her husband, saying, "Usha get out ... you've still got time," Fox News reported.

More recently, El-Sayed invoked Usha Vance after the vice president criticized his previous comments that efforts to ban Sharia law stemmed from white supremacy.

"So do we think JD is taking Usha with him back in time to meet Papaw, or no..." El-Sayed wrote on X/Twitter.

Vance tells El-Sayed to keep wife's name 'out of your mouth'

Vance responded during a political rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan, on Monday, where he was campaigning for El-Sayed's Republican Senate opponent, Mike Rogers, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"Whatever you want to talk about, Abdul, keep my wife's name the hell out of your mouth because she's way out of your league," Vance said.

The vice president said he was particularly sensitive to the remarks because Usha Vance had given birth to the couple's fourth child five weeks earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Usha Vance had addressed El-Sayed's remarks in an interview with Fox News the previous weekend, saying his comment about whether she would accompany her husband back in time to meet his grandparents made her laugh.

Vance also accused El-Sayed of being divisive and said his views represented a "terrible evil" that was on the rise in the United States.

El-Sayed responded by accusing Vance of dividing Americans for political gain and criticized the Trump administration's policies on healthcare, the economy, and foreign affairs.

El-Sayed is running against Rogers in Michigan's closely watched Senate race to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters.
