Lenny Kravitz dead in tragic Learjet plane crash in Florida? Rocker's team hits back at death hoax

Lenny Kravitz's team has shut down the viral claims that the singer died in the tragic Learjet crash in Florida, which claimed the lives of all nine people on board. The death hoax, which spread across social media, suggested that the 'Fly Away' singer was travelling on the aircraft when it crashed.

Addressing the speculation, Kravitz's publicist told BocaNewsNow, “The reports are untrue and incorrect.

”As per viral screenshots shared by fans, even his Wiki page stated Nov 1, 2026 as his death date, however, the page has since been corrected.

The death hoax reportedly originated from a post on X featuring a screenshot of a social media post by 21-year-old pilot Emily Shelton. Shelton had made headlines in August after performing an emergency landing on a highway.

The screenshot appeared to suggest that Kravitz was scheduled to fly from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas on the aircraft involved in Sunday's crash. The post read, “Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin’s airport] to [a Bahamas airport] tomorrow.

Looking forward to having him on board. ‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’ is gonna be playing in the cockpit.”

However, Shelton was not piloting the aircraft involved in the crash.

Addressing the rumours in a TikTok post, she clarified, “I was recently made aware that there are rumors that I was the pilot of the recent crash in Palm Beach. I would like to respectfully clarify I was not. I ask that people please stop speculating and spreading misinformation on this tragedy and be respectful of those involved. My heart goes out to all those lost and affected.”The clarification comes as false claims surrounding the crash continue to circulate online after a Learjet crashed on Sunday afternoon in a residential area in Palm Beach County, US transportation officials said. The private jet had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.Videos on social media showed the jet slamming into the ground next to a road and exploding.
