FGR advances carbon fibre commercialisation with Aeropreg agreement
First Graphene Limited (FGPHF) has entered into a three-year Development and Commercialisation Agreement with Turkish prepreg manufacturer Aeropreg.
The partnership aims to develop and commercialize advanced carbon fibre prepreg enhanced with First Graphene’s proprietary PureGRAPH® technology and epoxy concentrates.
Aeropreg will utilize its in-house resin development, testing, and manufacturing capabilities to optimize PureGRAPH® integration into its existing carbon fibre prepreg production lines. Carbon fibre prepreg, pre-infused with partially cured polymer resin is widely used to strengthen structural components across high-performance industries, including aerospace, defense, automotive, marine, and sporting goods.
The joint program will initially focus on establishing controlled and repeatable graphene loading within the prepreg. Once optimized, the teams will validate the composite material’s strength, durability, performance, and overall manufacturability.
Following successful trial results, the product will move toward commercial launch through Aeropreg’s established international sales channels.
This collaboration marks a key milestone in First Graphene’s strategy to transition its PureGRAPH® technical developments into scalable commercial applications. Securing an established manufacturing partner allows First Graphene to target critical end-uses, such as primary structures in modern commercial aircraft airframes.
The deal also aligns with First Graphene’s expanding focus on North America, complementing its recent acquisition of MITO Materials.
Overall, the agreement positions First Graphene to capture share in the global carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) market, which is projected to reach US$43.7 billion by 2033.
