Jennifer Lopez is gearing up to become an empty nester soon. The singer and actress’ 18-year-old twins, Max and Oskar, are all set to leave for college after graduating, and Lopez has been emotional since then.

In one of her recent videos, Lopez opened up about the experience and how she has been dealing with her children leaving.

Over the weekend, Lopez took to her beauty brand’s social media account to share a video where she talked about becoming an empty nester. She started the video by saying, “Good morning, everybody! This is a beautiful day, a beautiful morning. I was just about to start my skincare routine, and I was thinking about routines because I’m sure a lot of people are going through this out there.

My kids are going away to college.

”

She further emphasised how routines maintain structure in the house no matter the situation. She added, “I think when they go away, I’m sitting here being an empty nester, and crying and thinking about them and looking at baby pictures of them and all of that stuff. These routines are the things that are going to keep me sane. Working out, doing my skincare routine, caring for myself, with the newfound kind of space that’s in your life.

”

Furthermore, the ‘Ain’t Your Mama’ singer revealed that while the situation is hard for her, she is simply remembering that it is a phase of life that needs to happen. “You know, you’re so excited for them to step into this new era of their lives, but it’s also, we have to remember, a new era of our lives too. And maybe it’s time to revive some old dreams that you had. Something you put aside during the time that you were raising your kids, or things you didn’t have time for,” she mentioned.Adding, “It’s a scary time. It’s a transitional time. It’s a new beginning." Lopez urged people to take care of themselves and to stick to their routines because, at the end of the day, they help deal with a lot of things in life.Lopez had also recently shared a carousel post with her twins before they headed off to college. Captioning it, “Road tripping with my coconuts before they head off to college," the post consisted of glimpses of the trio travelling around on a road trip together.Earlier in July, while talking to Extra, Lopez revealed more details about her children and how they had been accepted to all of the schools they had applied for. At the time, she shared, “I am so proud that they set goals for themselves. They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. They both got a scholarship to each, you know, one scholarship to each. Each one got a scholarship to a school. And I just felt like they work so hard.
