2 drug suspects yield P3.4-M ‘shabu’ in Imus City buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two suspected big-time illegal drug traffickers and seized P3.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in Imus City, Cavite.
The PDEA-Region 4A, in a report on Friday (Aug. 14), said their operatives from Cavite, in coordination with the Cavite Maritime Police Station collared “Ryan,” 33, and “Mark,” 35, on Thursday, after they allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Buhay na Tubig at around 6:40 p.m.
The suspects, identified by PDEA as “notorious drug personalities,” were allegedly found in possession of five transparent plastic bags containing about 500 grams of suspected shabu.

Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s standard price of P6,800 per gram, the confiscated drugs were valued at P3,400,000.
Police impounded a multi-purpose vehicle believed to have been used in the suspect’s alleged illegal drug activities. Authorities also confiscated a mobile phone, which will be examined for possible drug-related transactions.
The suspects were detained and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /das
