The Legend of Vox Machina is chock-full of powerful characters, and here are the 10 strongest, ranked. As one of several Dungeons & Dragons TV shows, The Legend of Vox Machina has incredibly strong characters to spare. Nearly everyone in the show, be it a main hero, a villain, or merely a supporting character, has fantastical powers derived from the lore of the iconic tabletop game, making each one a powerhouse in their own right. Naturally, though, The Legend of Vox Machina's main characters receive the spotlight.

From the members of the titular team themselves to the many villains they have faced, or deities they have encountered, the most powerful characters in The Legend of Vox Machina have, more often than not, been at the center of the story. By the time of The Legend of Vox Machina season 4's ending, the show has introduced some of the strongest characters in the fantasy genre as a whole. With all that in mind, here are the 10 strongest of that bunch, ranked by how powerful they truly are.

10 Sylas Briarwood

One of the two main villains of The Legend of Vox Machina season 1 is ranked as the 10th strongest character in the show. Admittedly, Sylas does not showcase the insane feats of power that some of the other villains on this list do, nor does he have the longevity of some others. That could make him somewhat of a surprise inclusion in this list, but a key moment from season 1 stands out as justification.

Together, the members of Vox Machina, complete with their tokens of power, god-inspired weapons, and special abilities, are strong enough to take down even the most powerful beings in Exandria. Nonetheless, that did not stop Sylas from taking down every single member during a climactic fight in season 1. Only Keyleth's intervention stopped Sylas from single-handedly taking down Grog and the rest of the show's heroes, immediately earning him a spot, albeit a low one, on this list.

9 Umbrasyl

From this entry onwards, the characters of The Legend of Vox Machina truly pack a dangerous punch. Umbrasyl is next up, the black dragon of the Chroma Conclave. The Chroma Conclave served as the primary villains of The Legend of Vox Machina seasons 2 and 3, with the former season only featuring the death of one dragon: Umbrasyl. As such, Umbrasyl was the primary threat of season 2, with Vox Machina having a tough time killing him.

For one, Vox Machina stood no chance of opposing Umbrasyl without the Vestiges of Divergence, powerful relics that they spent the entirety of season 2 trying to gain. Even with the Vestiges, though, Umbrasyl proved to be a tough fight. He defeated Vox Machina in the penultimate episode of season 2 before incapacitating each member one by one in the finale. Only Scanlan's last-ditch attempt to defeat him, with an aforementioned Vestige, saw Umbrasyl fall, easily ranking the season 2 villain as one of the show's strongest.

8 Pike Trickfoot

The first of three members of the titular team on this list is Pike Trickfoot. As Vox Machina's resident cleric, Pike is incredibly powerful. Whether it be with the aid of her goddess's powers or after her crisis of faith, Pike is instrumental to the team. Without her, several members of Vox Machina would have died countless times, with her healing proving an invaluable skill. In a fight, Pike may not be the strongest hero, but she can still hold her own.

Instead, it is her healing abilities, Vestiges, and ancestral blood that rank Pike this high. Pike's blood was the only thing powerful enough to ensure the rise of the Whispered One to true godhood in The Legend of Vox Machina season 4, proving just how strong she is. Season 4, especially, showcased Pike's importance overall, solidifying her as one of the most powerful members of The Legend of Vox Machina.

7 Vax'ildan

Ordinarily, Vax'ildan, the second of Vox Machina's members on this list, would not be ranked this highly. However, since season 2, Vax has had the Matron of Ravens, the goddess of death and fate, in his corner. This grants Vax several ingrained abilities that make him one of the team's strongest combatants. From the superhuman speed, giant raven wings, and the ability to see hidden weak spots to the almost complete avoidance of death and links to the fate of the world, Vax is a strong Vox Machina character in every sense of the word.

6 Keyleth

Similar to Pike, Keyleth is a character that, without whom, Vox Machina would have failed several times over. As essentially The Legend of Vox Machina's Avatar, Keyleth's power over the four elements is immeasurable. This gives her a variety of attacks to face down many opponents, with some even offering her hulking forms of brute strength. Beyond that, Keyleth has other buffs, one of which she used to defeat the aforementioned Sylas in season 1. Continuously, Keyleth bails out her team, easily making her Vox Machina's strongest member.

5 Raishan

Two more dragons of the Chroma Conclave take up #5 and #4 on this list, with Raishan filling the former slot. Raishan may not be as overtly threatening, domineering, or physically imposing as the Conclave's other dragons, but her ability to manipulate bumps her up a few levels. Also, she is still a dragon; Raishan is massive and possesses a breath of gas that can kill opponents easily. For two seasons, though, Raishan used her cunning to pit Vox Machina and Thordak against one another.

It was Raishan who defeated Thordak in the end, even taking over his body to continue her reign of terror. Were it not for Keyleth, Raishan would have succeeded in being the greatest threat Vox Machina and Exandria had ever faced. Naturally, however, Keyleth's narrative importance allowed her to triumph over Raishan. In a straight-up battle, though, or a contest of wits, Raishan outranks all of The Legend of Vox Machina's main members, rendering her a strong enemy indeed.

4 Thordak

Regarding physical threats, Thordak is easily the strongest character in The Legend of Vox Machina; Those above him on this list are only deemed stronger due to their cosmic/celestial elements. As the leader of the Chroma Conclave, Thordak was a massive dragon who was capable of defeating anyone in a straight-up fight. He inspired loyalty through fear, truly showcasing how strong he really was. Even with all of the Vestiges of Divergence, Vox Machina could not defeat Thordak.

It was only a sneak attack born of subterfuge from Raishan that allowed Thordak to be killed. Again, in a straight-up fight, Thordak would have decimated Raishan, meaning the former ranks above the latter. Overall, Thordak is by far the biggest physical threat that Vox Machina has faced in the show thus far, making him the strongest of The Legend of Vox Machina's more tangible characters by some distance.

3 Matron of Ravens

If the Matron of Ravens' abilities are enough to give Vax a spot on this list, the goddess herself has to be in the top three. The Matron of Ravens is shrouded in mystery throughout the majority of the show, even going into The Legend of Vox Machina season 5. Still, as the goddess of death and fate, the Matron has control over the lives of many, including Vox Machina's members. Throughout the course of the show's story, she has killed and revived Vex'ahlia, Vax's sister, allowed Percy to come back from the dead, and will likely do the same with Vax himself in season 5.

This alone makes her an incredibly strong entity in The Legend of Vox Machina. Moreover, Vax's strength allows her to rank so highly. As the Matron's champion, she is responsible for Vax's many abilities that make him such a capable fighter. Overall, there is little to discredit the Matron of Ravens as one of the strongest entities in The Legend of Vox Machina. While she may not be a "character" per se, her shadow looms large over the entirety of the story, exemplifying her power.

2 The Everlight

Admittedly, the Everlight and Matron of Ravens could be swapped in this list; the two are very similar in that they are deities with otherworldly abilities that often mean the difference between life and death. As Pike Trickfoot's god, the Everlight gives her a lot of her abilities, much like the Matron does with Vax. Again, these powers can determine someone's life, either due to healing, barriers, divine intervention, or resurrection. Despite being interchangeable with the Matron, one thing is still clear: the Everlight is just as powerful as one of The Legend of Vox Machina's strongest characters.

1 The Whispered One

The Whispered One is easily The Legend of Vox Machina's strongest character. Like the Chroma Conclave and Thordak, the Whispered One has been a multi-season villain after being teased in the final moments of season 3. Season 4 focused on Vox Machina's attempts to stop the return of the Whispered One to his godly form, proving just how strong he is; the feeling within the show was that, should the Whispered One rise again, the world was essentially doomed.

Season 4 ended with exactly this happening, and the Whispered One decimating a powerful character like Vax with ease. Not only does this showcase the Whispered One's strength, but it also proves he even has power over the Matron of Ravens, at least for now. As a master of dark arts, an immortal form, and an army of incredibly strong followers, the Whispered One is undoubtedly The Legend of Vox Machina's strongest character, as evident by his status as the show's final, overarching villan.
