The spot was around 500 metres east of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.Police personnel who went to the site spotted an injury mark on the man’s head, while a concrete stone with apparent bloodstains was found nearby.A murder case was registered and joint CP Vijay Kumar formed teams under the supervision of DCP Vineet Kumar. After several days of analysis of CCTV camera footage, investigators traced the movements of the victim, later identified as Hasan, and found him travelling with two men towards the crime scene.

The two men were subsequently traced to a stitching factory in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri. Ansari and Wasim were apprehended Friday afternoon by a team led by ACP Anil Sharma and comprising station house officer Raman Kumar and others.Ansari claimed that Hasan was suffering from mental health problems, which police described as schizophrenia. Ansari allegedly said Hasan had even attacked him and other family members.“He also told us that he was not able to get him proper treatment. So he, along with his friend, made the plan a few days ago,” police said.According to investigators, they took Hasan to the abandoned container on the pretext of taking him to a doctor.Once they reached the secluded location, Wasim allegedly struck him with a stone, following which Ansari also assaulted him. Hasan was then strangled with a rope made from cloth waste and the body was left there, police said.Inquiry revealed that they initially planned to push Hasan into the Yamuna, but abandoned it after finding people around when they reached the river. On the way to the isolated spot, Ansari bought samosas to keep Hasan engaged and unsuspecting.Police said they had recovered the concrete stone and the rope used in the murder and bloodstained clothes worn during the incident.
