This year celebrates the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, and, as such, there have been plenty of announcements and releases to keep fans busy. Not only has the Pokémon Trading Card Game just launched its 30th Anniversary Set, but earlier this year, the next mainline installment in the Pokémon video game series was also announced with Pokémon Winds & Waves expected to launch some time in 2027, kickstarting the franchise's tenth generation.

Put simply, there has never been a better time to be a Pokémon fan, especially as the celebrations are far from over with the news that New Espeon and Umbreon are set to welcome brand-new designs in one upcoming release.

Announced by Hori, Espon and Umbreon will be returning as part of a new Nintendo Switch 2 controller and accessories which launches this November. The only catch here, is that these products will only be available in Japan. So, you will either have to purchase them online, or hope that they eventually launch worldwide in the future.

However, if you are a fan of these 'mons, then you will definitely want to try and get your hands on these stunning products. Available through the Horistore, Amazon, or Rakuten, the 'Starlight Night' set is, as you can probably guess, based on all things celestial, complete with a myriad of stars and purple tones. With the spooky months fast approaching, this will make for the perfect addition to your Nintendo Switch 2 cosmetics, especially with the level of detail which sees even the zips featuring sun and moon decals.

If you are able to get your hands on them, the official prices have been revealed by Hori, and are as follows:

  • Quilted miniature pouch: 4980 JPY
  • Shoulder pouch: 4980 JPY
  • Wired Horipad TURBO: 5480 JPY
  • starlight-night-horipad-09162026

  • starlight-night-quilted-pouch-09162026

Coming in at around $31.55 to $34.72, they are not too outlandishly priced, but you will just have to keep an eye on international storefronts to make sure that you can grab yours when the new line launches in November 2026.

Following the announcement of the products earlier this year, potential customers and Pokémon lovers took to r/GirlGamers to share their thoughts, after one user shared an image of the Quilted miniature pouch.

"If there were Sylveon versions I would be saying, “Shut up and take my money!“" One user shared. Another added, "Well I now have a new thing to buy that I most likely don’t need."

"I know what my next controller pick up will be," one comment read. "I love Espeon and Umbreon too much. (Sorry Fun Labs, your controllers look neat too, but do they have pretty art of Pokémon? Didn't think so)."

It seems as though Hori will have plenty of customers to deal with when this brand-new collection goes live, and what a perfect way to celebrate Pokémon's 30th Anniversary for Nintendo Switch 2 users.
