1XCup 2026: Ajuwa Wallop Joy Cometh 4-0 As AUX Edge ECAS

The 1XCup 2026 group stage continued on Wednesday, September 16, with three matches producing seven goals, including a dominant performance by Ajuwa FA as they went to the top of Group C.

ECAS FA 0–1 AUX FC

AUX FC secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over ECAS FA in Group F with the only goal of the game coming in the 65th minute courtesy of Aron Ogodogbo with an assist from Arong Theophilus.

The narrow result reflected a closely contested encounter, with AUX doing enough to claim all three points while ECAS despite all their efforts failed to find an equaliser as the former held on to protect their advantage, with the victory thereby giving them an important boost in their bid to advance from the group.

Ajuwa FA 4–0 Joy Cometh FC

In the second game of the day, Ajuwa FA went on a rampage as they delivered a commanding performance with an easy 4–0 destruction of 10-man Joy Cometh FC in Group C.

Sunday Olamilekan Akanji let his team down as the goalkeeper picked up a red card as early as the 13th minute but Joy Cometh held on strongly until the 36th minute when the floodgates of goals opened for Ajuwa.

Hat-trick hero, Emeka Sylvester opened the scoring for Ajuwa and added a second goal in the 50th minute after which the striker got his third goal of the game in the 67th minute courtesy of Akor Stephen’s assist.

Bethel Israel put Ajuwa 4-0 ahead in the 71st minute after being set up by Diju Chidubem Victor as their team dominated the encounter and converted their chances clinically to register the biggest winning margin of Wednesday’s fixtures as the four-goal victory provides a significant lift to their campaign and demonstrates their attacking strength.

Tonic FC 1–1 Mega 22 FC

In the final game of the day, Tonic FC and Mega 22 FC shared the points after playing out a 1–1 draw in an evenly matched Group C encounter.

Both sides found the net once with Godswill Okiye putting Tonic in the sixth minute while Usman Shaibu Saliu equalised for Mega 22 in the 30th minute after being set up by Ogbu Samson Ekene but the two teams could not produce the decisive goal, ensuring that the points were shared.

The result keeps the Group C contest competitive, with both teams needing positive results in their remaining fixtures.
