Translate

A man suspected of murdering his elder brother in Kampung Banggol Tasek, Bukit Payong, Marang yesterday has been remanded for seven days from today until Oct 10.

The remand order for the 42-year-old suspect, a person with a mental disability, was issued by Kuala Terengganu court assistant registrar Yuhanis Roslan at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) today to facilitate further investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

In the incident at about 9am yesterday, a 43-year-old man died after allegedly being struck with a blunt object.

The victim’s 36-year-old sister was also injured and is warded at HSNZ after she allegedly tried to prevent the suspect from attacking the victim.

Terengganu police chief Khairi Khairudin said today that dissatisfaction with his elder brother, who allegedly frequently asked their parents for money, is believed to have led to the fatal attack.
