Emmerdale's Vinny Dingle finally bites the bullet next week, and admits that the car crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Fletcher was his fault.

"With each day, Vinny's guilt is getting worse,” begins Bradley Johnson, who plays him. "He's confided in Kev, who has told him to keep it to himself so as not to upset Lewis. So Vinny is in a bit of a dilemma – but he doesn't want to go to prison!"
Tormented by his secret, that he answered his phone while driving and caused Jimmy to swerve and crash into the wedding marquee, Vinny tells Kev he plans to do the right thing.
Kev thinks he's talking about making up with Lewis Barton, who he left hanging after his proposal backfired. In actual fact, Vinny wants to come clean about the fatal moment he took his eyes off the road, and hunts out Nicola…
"I don't think Vinny knows what reaction he's going to get," reveals Bradley. "It's heartbreaking as Nicola tells Vinny he's left her kids without a dad – that's horrible for Vinny to hear, but it's also a weight lifted because he feels like he's doing the right thing at last. It's a very powerful scene."
Nicola is fuming to hear how Vinny took a call from Gabby Thomas, setting off the chain of tragic events that led to two deaths.

"Vinny is more scared of Joe than Nicola," admits Bradley. "He expects his reaction to be a lot worse, because the whole village knows what Joe Tate is like.
