Israel Police find illegal weapons, explosives among Arab communities in operation against crime
Several weapons and explosives were seized by Israel Police during an operation aiming at reducing violent crime among Arab communities, the police announced on Monday.
Among the illegal weapons and ammunition seized were several which are suspected to have been stolen from the IDF, the police stated.
Police forces in Taybeh located 6.5 kg. of explosive material, as well as materials needed to detonate it remotely.
In Kafr Kassem, meanwhile, police raided four separate locations, in which they found two Glock 19 pistols, as well as a full 9 mm. magazine and several rifle magazines.
Four suspects were arrested during the operation.
Two arrested for allegedly stealing shoulder-fired missile
Last week, two people were arrested in Shfaram on suspicion of stealing a shoulder-fired MATADOR missile stolen from the IDF during operations in northern Israel, Israel Police announced.
Police said one of the suspects is an illegal resident.
Police transferred both suspects to the Galilee Region police station for questioning and expect to bring them before the court to extend their detention.
