Coronation Street announces new Rovers mystery as Eva suffers horror fall

Coronation Street's Eva Price is left fighting for her life in the Rovers' cellar next week, after a deadly fall knocks her out cold!
The lifeless landlady is discovered by Debbie Webster, before being quickly rushed to hospital. But was it an accident - or was she pushed?

"This is a serious fall for Eva," confirms our Corrie insider. "She's alone in the pub when she hears a noise, and the next thing you know, she's lying at the bottom of the cellar steps, unconscious!
"Is someone out to get her, or was this a simple mishap?"
When starlet Susie is invited to London to audition for a musical, poor Eva is full of cold and asks her partner Ben Driscoll to go in her place.
She waves them off, proud of her little girl and completely unaware of the dangers that await while she looks after the pub alone.
As Eva continues to be a drama queen about her illness, Glenda Shuttleworth has had enough of her diva behaviour and walks out! Left to close up alone, Eva feels dreadful and is ready for bed - until she hears a disturbing noise downstairs…
"Eva's scared they have an intruder," continues our spy.
"We can't reveal exactly what happens when she gets downstairs, but the drama escalates and she ends up crumpled at the bottom of the cellar steps! Worse still, with the Rovers empty, there's no one around to save her."

Later, while trying to locate her son Carl, a disorientated Debbie stumbles into the pub and finds Eva lying at the bottom of the stairs.
The sight horrifies Debbie, and she's not even sure whether Eva is still breathing. But on her way to get help, Debbie loses track of her thoughts and forgets all about unconscious Eva!
"Thankfully, Glenda discovers Eva in the nick of time," reveals our source. "She calls an ambulance, as Eva lies fighting for her life. Once the paramedics arrive, it's unclear if the landlady will be okay. And if she wakes up, will she even remember what happened?"
