EastEnders airs shocking Max Branning realisation for Cindy Beale in early BBC iPlayer release

Translate

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) just dug up some serious dirt on estranged husband Max Branning (Jake Wood) in Wednesday's (21st October 2026) EastEnders.

Amid her quest to make him pay for ditching her just hours after they tied the knot, Cindy was gleeful to uncover evidence of a secret, undeclared property on the laptop she and Max shared.

As the BBC soap continued, Cindy told her daughter-in-law Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa), who also happens to be Max's daughter, that he simply cannot be trusted.

Armed with the information that Max was hiding, Cindy brought Lauren along to crash Max's viewing of No.31.

She exposed Max's New Zealand property to Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal), and Lauren pointed out that her mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) is struggling to pay for their granddaughter AJ's (Abi Junior) childcare as Max claimed he couldn't afford to help.

After Cindy told Suki that Max wasn't actually good for the cash, Suki turned down Max's offer to buy the house and decided to sell to Ned Hawkins (Jamie Bamber) instead.

Humiliated, Max was now out for his own revenge, and a resolute Cindy stumbled upon Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) wish to find the man who left her daughter Zoe (Michelle Ryan) to die.

The day took another unexpected turn when Cindy caught frenemy Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) 'entertaining' her young lover Rafael (Daniel Garcia) at Peacock Palace.

Meanwhile, Max enlisted son Oscar's (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) help to prove the marriage to Cindy was never consummated, in order to secure a straightforward annulment.

That meant poor Oscar had to coax Cindy into discussing her sex life with Max – but instead, after a round of shots, it was a drunk Oscar who slipped up.

When Oscar accidentally admitted to covering for Max, Cindy came to realise that it was none other than Max who was with Zoe just before she passed away.

Will Cindy tell Kat immediately, or will she have fun stirring now that she holds all the cards where Max is concerned?

We know which one our money is on!
