Will Avengers: Endgame Encore be released on Disney+?

While there are a lot of great, exciting movies due for release between now and the end of 2026, there's one in particular which is understandably generating a lot of buzz amongst some film fans: Avengers: Doomsday.

While the MCU had been in something of a slump for the past few years, there appears to be renewed interest in the franchise – thanks both to the meteoric success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day over the summer and the mammoth cast of Marvel favourites teaming up for this upcoming adventure.

To get ahead of the excitement, Marvel decided to re-release the previous Avengers film – box office sensation Avengers: Endgame – in cinemas over the weekend, more than seven years on from its original record-breaking run.

But this isn't just any old version of the film. Instead, it's a brand new, extended version which contains four minutes of extra footage that helps to set the scene for Doomsday as the countdown continues to its release.

Of course, that includes some more scenes teasing the arrival of big bad Doctor Doom, who is set to be played by long time Iron Man star Robert Downy Jr.

Naturally, you might be very keen to see these extra scenes ahead of Doomsday. But do you have to make a trip to the pictures, or is the extended version available to watch at home?

Yes. Although the extended film is currently only available to watch in cinemas – having been released on Friday 25 September 2026 – the plan is that it will eventually be available to watch at home as well.

A date for when that will be has not yet been announced, but a specific page for Endgame Encore already exists on Disney+ (even though you can currently only watch the trailer for the new version of the movie.)

As for when that will be, all we know is that it will be after the current theatrical run ends. Given the huge success of Encore's opening weekend – it grossed $86 million to top the global box office – we could still be waiting a few weeks, but we'll update this page when we get any more information.

And, of course, the original version of Endgame is still streaming on Disney+, so if you want a recap of the epic and are fine to miss out on the new scenes, it's very easy to do so!

Avengers: Endgame Encore trailer

A new trailer for the film was released in August – about a month before the re-release – that included footage of fans reacting to major moments from the film on its original theatrical run.
