#NSTviral: Police K9 workout draws smiles online

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Carrying your colleagues at work can be exhausting, especially when they have four paws and weigh up to 35kg.

A video shared by Threads account pawsclub.co (http://pawsclub.co/) offered a light-hearted glimpse of police K9 training, with policemen doing the heavy lifting while their canine partners appeared happy to come along for the ride.

Some handlers cradled the dogs in front of their bodies, while others carried them across their shoulders during the workout.

The dogs appeared relaxed, leaving their human colleagues to put in the hard yards.

"Got the Monday blues? At least you're not carrying a 30–35kg colleague around," the page quipped in its caption.

According to the post, the exercise took place at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here, with K9 handlers undergoing physical training alongside their dogs to stay ready for tracking, search and detection duties.

The video drew amused reactions from social media users charmed by the canine passengers, garnering more than 112,000 views and 5,900 likes.
