Cardi B Says She’s Already Working on Her 3rd Album, Plotting 2027 Release: ‘I’m Not Even Playing Around’

Cardi B doesn’t plan to make the Bardi Gang wait nearly the seven years it took between her debut and sophomore albums for her next project.

Speaking to The Breakfast Club hosts following her iHeartRadio Music Festival performance in Las Vegas on Friday (Sept. 18), Cardi confirmed she’s already working on her third album, and the Grammy-winning rapper expects the LP to be released in 2027.

“I am doing a new album, and after my birthday in November, I am shipping myself away just to record,” she explained. Cardi added she has only about two songs that she “likes” at the moment, but is excited to get back in the booth.

“It’s not gonna be a long way to go,” Cardi continued when Charlamagne Tha God ribbed her about the hiatus between her first two albums. “Absolutely [in 2027]. I’m not even playing around. I just got this confidence. I got a new attitude. I’m ready. I was outside all summer.”

Cardi’s Am I the Drama? album celebrated its first anniversary on Saturday (Sept. 19). After a seven-year wait, the “WAP” rapper’s sophomore LP debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 200,000 total album-equivalent units, according to Luminate.

Real 92.3 captured a clip of Snoop Dogg raving about Cardi B’s performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival while in conversation with Big Boy.

“She was hitting every single line of her motherf–king song,” Snoop gushed. “She was poppin’ that s–t and she was energetic and the crowd was into it. She’s a real performer. She got all that s–t. She’s a real superstar.”

Cardi B released her first single of 2026 with “AH HA” in July, which notched the 33-year-old a top 25 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Bronx native also scored a best hip-hop nomination at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, and it’s possible she could be popping up at the L.A. ceremony on Sunday (Sept. 27).
