Aggressive Bangladeshi man at KLIA Terminal 1 admitted to psychiatric ward

KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi man who acted aggressively and disrupted passengers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 on Thursday has been admitted to Kajang Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

KLIA district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ravi Munusamy said the 26-year-old man began shouting and disturbing passengers at an airline counter at 4.40pm.

Investigations revealed the man was scheduled to board a flight back to Bangladesh at 10.20pm that evening.

Terminal security officers intervened to calm the situation before escorting him to the KLIA Terminal 1 police station for further action.

"However, while in the holding area, the suspect lost control and again acted aggressively," he said in a statement today.

Ravi said the man was subsequently taken to Kajang Hospital and placed in a psychiatric ward for further treatment.
