Translate

A Cunderdin father-of-two who died in a truck crash on Wednesday has been remembered by friends and family as “one of the most amazing men you could ever meet”.

Truck driver Jason Retallack, 33, was involved in a head-on collision with another truck driver on the Great Eastern Highway in Meckering about 6.45am Wednesday morning. Both men died at the scene.

Jason Retallack has been remembered as a “kind-hearted” young man.

Tributes have poured in for Retallack on social media, who owned cargo and freight company, Wheatbelt Tilt Tray & Earthworks, including from his mum and dad Allan and Fiona.

“The world has lost an incredibly kind-hearted, loved young man,” the Facebook post said.

“Words cannot explain how we are all feeling at this time...you will be sadly missed every day mate.”

The trucking community has also banded behind Retallack and encouraged drivers to be careful on the roads.

Kent Transport posted Retallack was “such a lovely fellow taken too soon”.

“Please ladies and gentlemen be careful out on the roads! Your families are always awaiting your safe arrival home,” they posted.

Woodstock Offroad Challenge said they had lost a “treasured friend”.

“Jason always went above and beyond to help us and the people around him. He was a truly wonderful man … Rest easy, Jason. You’ll be deeply missed.”
