Trough of LPA outside PAR to affect parts of Visayas, Mindanao Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines — The trough of the low pressure area (LPA) monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) will bring rain over parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, according to the state weather bureau. 

In the 5 a.m weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, weather specialist Veronica Torres said that the LPA was estimated 1,795 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas as of 3 a.m. It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression and may enter the PAR in the coming days.

“Yung kanyang trough o extension ang makakaapekto sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas. Asahan ang maulang panahon sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas pati sa silangang bahagi ng Mindanao area,” Torres said.

(Its trough or extension will affect the eastern part of Visayas. Expect rains over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.)

Torres added that Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA’s trough. She also said that the trough will affect the southern portion of Visayas and eastern part of Mindanao on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms. Torres said that this weather condition may prevail in the next three to five days with chances of thunderstorms in different parts of Luzon.

No gale warning was raised in any seaboards of the country.
