5 Emmerdale spoilers confirm Thea's risky plan to save Charity

Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday's episode (5 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Emmerdale, Thea feels the pressure to get Charity out of prison when Sarah refuses to back down from her blackmail plan.

Meanwhile, Gabby becomes increasingly isolated, and another emotional week begins for the Kings.

Read on for five big moments from Monday's episode…

1. Serena seeks support

Serena pays a surprise visit to Charity in prison, clearly rattled after Sarah's blackmail threats. She hopes that Charity will intervene before things get out of hand.

Charity is surprised to learn what Sarah is up to, but points out that there isn't much she can do as her granddaughter isn't speaking to her!

2. Thea is backed into a corner

When it seems that Sarah won't back down, Thea is forced to carry out a very risky plan at work.

She tampers with the audio file of Charity's custody interview, which is a crucial part of the CPS case against her. Will this be enough to get Charity off the hook?

3. Gabby's problems get worse

Gabby pays a visit to the café and gets much more than she'd bargained for when Lewis decides to end their friendship.

Lewis points out that he needs to be in Nicola's corner following Jimmy's death, so it wouldn't be right to keep associating with her. Gabby is devastated – it's the last thing she needs to hear when she desperately needs a friend.

4. Manpreet hints at Gabby's issues

Manpreet tries to find a way to alert Laurel to Gabby's troubles without betraying doctor-patient confidentiality.

When Manpreet mentions Gabby's alarming social media content, Laurel tries to find her for a chat.

5. Carl finds a clue

Carl looks through some of Jimmy's belongings and finds a mysterious key. The schoolboy becomes emotional as he reflects on Jimmy not being around for his birthday tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Sadie frets when she learns that Jimmy's laptop has saved copies of his voicemails. Is her deception under serious threat?
